Officer Joshua S. Williams was a proud officer with the Waxahachie Police Department for 18 years. He attended Hill College before fulfilling his dream of becoming a police officer. During his tenure, Officer Williams was a member of SWAT, worked as a Field Training Officer, and earned numerous awards for his devotion to the community, including Expert Marksman Awards, Master Peace Officers Certificate and Exemmplary Performance.

Officer Williams met his lovely wife, Deanna, and the two celebrated the birth of their three beautiful daughters, Detosha, Kiondra and Kailyn. As a family, they spent time together and Officer Williams always gave his daughters a positive image to look up to. Officer Williams enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, customizing his motorcycle, fishing and playing jokes. He was known as a prankster and always knew how to make others smile. Officer Williams was a devoted member of his church and lived his life in God’s image.

On Saturday July 28, 2012, Officer Joshua S. Williams was responding to a disturbance at a fast food restaurant when his patrol car was struck by an intoxicated driver, killing Officer Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna, daughters, Detosha, Kiondra and Kailyn; parents, Joshua and Sadie; and sister, Keisha.
