Officer Dayle Weston “Wes” Hardy was a proud member of the Plano Police Department for nine years, beginning his career as a dispatcher for the Wise County Sheriff’s Department while attending police academy at Tarrant County Junior College.

Officer Hardy grew up in Boyd, TX and played football at Texas A&M University from 1993 to 1994. After finishing school, Officer Hardy pursued his dream to become a police officer at the Tarrant County Junior College police academy. He met his loving wife, Ashlee, in 2000 and moved to Howe, Texas where they welcomed their twin daughters, Cora and Caitlyn. Officer Hardy loved riding motorcycles, hunting, and spending time with his beautiful family. Hardy’s passion to serve others led him to volunteer with the Howe Fire Department, serving as their Captain and Training Officer for seven years. He is remembered for his wit and ability to make everyone laugh and smile.

On Saturday July 7, 2007, Officer Dayle Weston Hardy’s police motorcycle collided with a vehicle. Officer Hardy was transported to Baylor Hospital where he later succumbed to injuries he sustained in the crash. He is survived by his wife, Ashlee; and twin daughters, Cora and Caitlyn.
