Firefighter Donald “Don” Edward Hogg was a brave member of the Arlington Fire Department for 14 years. An instrumental part of developing the Hazmat Team in 1988, Firefighter Hogg was always working to make his community safer. During his tenure, he was awarded the Medal of Valor, Firefighter of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and the Chief’s Five Standards Awards.

Always active in his community, Don was an Eagle Scout in his youth before attending Texas A&M University where he met his wife through their involvement with Campus Crusade for Christ. Firefighter Hogg graduated Texas A&M University in 1983, and married his wife, Jennifer, in 1984. Together, he and his wife enjoyed camping in Colorado and traveling on exotic cruises to Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Hawaii and more. Always active in his community, Don worked on the school district’s Growth and Medical Committees to ensure the safety of students.

On Thursday November 19, 2009, Firefighter Donald Edward Hogg passed away at a Mansfield care facility after battling an acute illness at the age of 49. He is remembered for his pure heart filled with a passion to help others. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; son, Dylan; parents, Bob and Peggy; and his siblings, Ann Marie and Chaly.
