The Dallas Community Shows Support For Fallen Officers

On Saturday, July 23, 2016, citizens from the DFW area gathered at The Highland Hotel for a special edition of the Giving Table to benefit the Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas. The Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas s a 501(c)3 that is dedicated to raising funds for the families of fallen first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty, as well as support youth programs dedicated to working with underprivileged youth.

This special edition of the Giving Table was hosted by Chef John Tesar, who is notably popular for his appearance on Top Chef, and his Dallas eatery located inside The Highland Hotel, Knife. Chefs came together from all over the DFW to serve a cultivating array of dishes ranging from specialty Chicago dogs to swordfish tacos!

The Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas has been overwhelmed with the outpour of support received from the Dallas community in wake of the 5 fallen Officers. Since the beginning of July the Guns & Hoses Foundation has honored the families of fallen Officer Michael Krol (Dallas PD), Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens (Dallas PD), Sergeant Michael Smith (Dallas PD), Patricio Zamarripa (Dallas PD), Officer Brent Thompson ( DART PD), Mark McCullers (SMU PD), and Corrections Officer Mari Johnson (Texas Department of Criminal Justice) with monetary support in the hour of need. This would not have been possible without the help from our communities, and for this we thank you. For those who went before.
